EC DIRECTIVE ON WASTE ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE)
In accordance with Regulation 33 of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (“WEEE”), Musicroom is legally bound to provide information on our obligations under the WEEE Regulations.
As a company, we are under obligation to minimise the disposal of WEEE as unsorted municipal waste and to properly process this waste in recyclable form minimising the impact of its disposal on the environment. WEEE may contain hazardous substances which can have a detrimental effect on both human health and the environment if disposed of in landfill sites.
As a result of this, we offer a take-back service to customers purchasing new like-for-like electrical products from us and we will take responsibility for the safe disposal of your old electrical item.
To help people identify electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), products that were made after 13th August 2005 should be marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the packaging or product.
This means the product can be repaired, reused or recycled at an appropriate recycling facility accepting WEEE products and should not be disposed of in landfill sites.
You can use the take-back scheme in one of two ways:
- By taking your unwanted item to one of our high street stores. Visit the Store Locator to find your nearest store. If your order was placed on line, please bring the email order confirmation for your new item with you.
- By sending your unwanted item (at your expense) to our Distribution Centre. You must include the order number of your new item. Please use the following address:
