My First Piano Adventure - Lesson Book C/CD

Books | Piano

Publisher: Hal Leonard
Format: Books | Instrumental Tutor
Book C of My First Piano Adventure continues the staff-reading adventure with the introduction of skips (3rds). Students first explore skips aurally and kinesthetically across the full range of the keyboard. A delightful variety of songs follow which carefully and comfortably guide the child toward line-line and space-space staff recognition. The new CD for Book C offers a unique listening experience with outstanding orchestrations and vocals. The recordings demonstrate a key principle of the course: when children listen, sing, tap, and move to their piano music, they play more musically.

A brilliant book for young children. My pupils love the exploring the full range of the piano and I like that the material varies between different hand positions.
I find that very young players cannot deal with orientation around the piano keys and musical notation at the same time so I like that this book does not introduce the staff.
Expense-wise, quite expensive in comparison to other tutors.
