Midlands Piano teacher
- This series is excellent for broadening music studies beyond the exam syllabus. Divided into topics, it has a good range of music and supporting activities. Theory is put into context and there are sensible suggestions for internet searches for more background information. "Repertoire" pieces in the book are around Grade 2-3 with some "Quick Learn" easier pieces. This approach has helped my students improve their sight-reading confidence. Depending on the student this is a useful book just after Grade 2 or Grade 3 to help move on. The three books in the series cover a good range of classic and more contemporary topics.
- Nothing I don't like! Except that I'd love to have a book like this bridging the Grade 1 to 2 gap.
