A good selection with lovely photos...
but this is the 2nd copy I've bought of this and it has been edited. On the one hand easier transcriptions, but on the other hand you've lost the 'original' feel of the arrangements. Not the end of the world, but a surprise when I started to play the songs.

The Book is Bound too tightly (as many music books are these days!) and therefore won't sit on a music stand without some persuasion

Great book, lots of sepia photos of the era but the music text size was small and on some songs difficult to read. Good selection of songs though and really useful for my job at a nursing home.

Bought on the 'phone and and delivered by post this stunningly written, gloriously archived photographs and musically adept arrangements gives an old airman much pleasure and correction of lyrics mis-remembered ! The collection should be on every piano player/vocalist's shelves as a reminder of when tunes, sentiment and people were side by side, pulling together.

Haven't played piano for ages - so looking forward to having a go at the songs in this collection that will bring back many memories. Good speedy service and excellent value for money.

This song book was just the ticket. I loved the layout, the information, the pictures and the selection of songs. I have no qualms in recommending this item for others.

Great selection of songs, and largish print. The first half the book is a history with lots of war time pictures. Only criticism is that its a thick binding which is a pain for a music stand so you end up effectively breaking the back of the book to open and use. It would have been far better to have it as a spiral bound. Then easier to use on music stand or piano. I will no doubt be rebinding.

The music is easy enough for a competent musician and there is a good selection of popular songs. However our only complaint is that the book is so thick (with wartime information taking up the first third of the book)that a ringbind copy would be better, for the musician, as the pages do not stay open, on a music stand or piano stand.

This book has wonderfull photos, and details, taken of the people of Britain -and Soldiers WW11. It is well presented. I have found that only 15 of the songs, are well known? Wish there were more...? When playing this music, songs that are we all know, will better understood. Perhaps a few more that are popular War time songs would make it more interesting to play. No faults, easy to read and play..A very nice book..

As we had been asked to organise an Armistice Concert, this book was useful although a lot of extra nphotograpphs probably contributed to the cost. Songs were easy and very useful for such an occasion.

I'm really pleased with my purchase and it serves as a history book also. I only gave it 4 stars as I found it a wee bit expensive.
