Anthology Of Modern French Song (Low Voice)

Books | Low Voice, Piano

Publisher: G. Schirmer
Format: Sheet Music | Songbook

The Anthology Of Modern French Song is a fantastic collection of thirty-nine songs for Low Voice with Piano Accompaniment. These are all compositions by French writers and composers, faithfully edited by Max Spicker with English translations.

First published in 1912 the content is beautiful, expressive and rich, typical of French songs from this period. It is important to note that, though the title may cite modern French songs, it was originally published at the start of the 20th century and therefore Anthology of Romantic French Song might be a more accurate description of the contents!

          Musicroom Reviews

The Faure, Duparc and Debussy etc. appear widely but it is the unusual songs that make this a special selection - by Lalo, Saint-Saens etc.

This is good value, with a large number of songs which I have not found anywhere else.
