Pride And Prejudice: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack

Books | Piano

Catalogue No: AM986128
Composer: Dario Marianelli
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
A very special collection of twelve spine-tingling themes by Oscar-winning composer Dario Marianelli from the silver screen retelling of Jane Austen's classic romantic drama Pride And Prejudice, all arranged for sumptuous solo Piano.

Recapture those magical moments of love, dreams and secrecy, rich in Georgian elegance, with this collection of Pride And Prejudice sheet music. The first of his four collaborations with director Joe Wright, Dario Marianelli was nominated for an Oscar for his work on this beautiful soundtrack, whose melody adds to the romantic overtones while also staying true to the period. The acclaimed pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet played Piano on the film's soundtrack, enhancing the emotion and effectiveness of the drama unfolding on the screen.

When Wright and Marianelli first met, their conversations turned to Beethoven, whose early sonatas formed the basis of the Pride And Prejudice score. Other pieces were inspired by the period during which the film is set, such as Meryton Townhall. The Romantic period of classical music that the score emulates matches perfectly the romantic tone of the film. The novel is one of the greatest love stories ever told, the film is a faithful adaptation, and the score should be required playing for any pianists looking for some instrumental love songs with which to serenade their sweetheart.

Playing this beautiful collection of sheet music from the soundtrack to Pride And Prejudice is perfect as a way to spend an evening, the most romantic background music for a candlelit dinner, or just to enjoy the cinematic melodies when these compositions are played on solo Piano.

Wonderful score, very true to the music in the film.
It is advanced, grade 7 to 8 so a little stretching for my daughters level (5). The only other version available was too easy. She is enjoying rising to the challenge though!

Bought as a present for someone reasonably competent but only plays occasionally. She was thrilled!

Every piece is recognisable from the film and sounds exactly the same rather than a simpler version as you often find in film score music.

I am delighted with this music. I was a little bit worried in case it was too difficult to play, but it is relatively easily for anyone used to grade 5 and over. Also the arrangements are good and sound just like the soundtrack, whereas some film music arrangements differ quite a lot. Dawn is beautiful, I can't stop playing it.

My daughter who has just passed grade 3 wanted 'Dawn'-it is just the right level - presenting a bit of a challenge but already sounding great. Her piano teacher really likes the arrangement and has bought one for herself to play at weddings, hotels etc.

I think this book is great, it's arranged beautifully and is presented just as well.

Each piece is clearly set out and well-annotated. As a casual pianist I much appreciate this. Perhaps a very brief note to remind where the music is used in the film would add to understanding of the piece.

This product is presented well and is easy to use. The music is quick to pick up but challanging enough to provide stimulating practices. I have enjoyed playing tunes from my favourite soundtrack.

Lovely music to play after a stressful day! Dawn is my favourite. It's harder than it looks - eg playing two quavers with three!

I purchased this for a piano student and both of us were very satisfied with the content, not full of glossy pictures of the movie, but instead, the beautiful piano score of Marianelli. Delivery was excellent as always and I would recommend this publication to anybody wishing to play accurate music from the film.

Very accessible and enjoyable to play. Pieces are effective despite relative simplicity.

This piano music was too easy for me or was it just too "samey"? I had heard the theme tune on TV and liked it so ordered the book. My fault - but I purchased the simpler version and frankly was bored by page 2. However, turned to the other pieces to discover that they were all very similar. Not Musicroom's fault. I have to say that Musicroom were brilliant and professional with the procedure of returns. Will use them again - and hopefully I'll buy the right music for me next time.

This is now my favourite music book, 'dawn' and 'sculptures of pemberly' especially. It is right that it is labelled intermediate, I think a beginner would struggle, but it's do-able, sounds just like the film if I say so myself!
