I like that the songs are devided into sections and that each section are slowly and carefully run through with lots of repetitions. Also I find the performance part of great value

I got a lot out of this DVD! The presenter explains clearly and logically what Hendrix was doing. 4 stars, rather than 5 because I do question the accuracy of a few things he does - for example, the solo in Purple Haze is transcribed differently in this DVD from Stuart Bull's version on a different DVD from the same maker, and different again from the signature Licks transcription! What he does during the verses of Hey Joe and Little Wing doesn’t bear much relation to other transcriptions - musically, it is all fine, but not exactly what Hendrix did. Overall, however, if you want to sound pretty much like Hendrix and learn 5 great tracks, this is for you!

I found this a useful DVD and it gave plenty of ideas for tackling numbers other than those by Jimi Hendrix. Some on-screen tabs would have been a help at times.

This is a great DVD. A little expensive, but worth the money if you think its about the cost of 1-2hours tuition. Danny Gill is a really good instructor - about as clear as you can be on these types of videos. More for the intermediate/advanced I'd say. Would be better if it had a section on set-up tips: to sound more like the master.
